The odds stacked before you aren’t indicative of an inevitable loss!
When you face tough circumstances and lack the resources to overcome on your own, it can seem like a helpless situation. The enemy loves to come in and suggest that you quit now while you’re ahead. He has no issue helping you rattle off all thedifferent ways your venture, marriage, family, and dreams will fail miserably if you keep pressing forward.
In the scriptures, below we see the odds look terrible for the Israelite army. Their army looks like two small flocks of goats (from a birds eye view) compared to the Aramean army which literally covers the land in number.
At this point in a battle it would be considered self-respecting to give up and walk away. You may be at a point where your financial burden seems so heavy, you may as well file for bankruptcy. Your relationships may feel so strained that your emotions are screaming: “don’t embarrass yourself by fighting for this.” But whatever God places His hand on, succeeds without fail.
God has His hand on you. Seek Him in prayer and let the Holy Bible fill you with strength.
As we read on in the story,
“The man of God came up and told the king of Israel, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Because the Arameans think the Lord is a god of the hills and not a god of the valleys, I will deliver this vast army into your hands, and you will know that I am the Lord.’ ” For seven days they camped opposite each other, and on the seventh day the battle was joined. The Israelites inflicted a hundred thousand casualties on the Aramean foot soldiers in one day. The rest of them escaped to the city of Aphek, where the wall collapsed on twenty-seven thousand of them. And Ben-Hadad fled to the city and hid in an inner room.”
What God has spoken is more real than the circumstances you are currently facing. Your restoration is more real than the brokenness that you’re experiencing. Your brokenness will pass, but your restoration is fortified by the strength of God himself!
“So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?””
