What comes to mind for you in your own life regarding Eve Within? In other words, what would you like to share about the progress you’ve made as a woman of God over the past few years?
Growing up in church and God-fearing I never knew my level of faith could level up the way it has since I relocated. This season that I have been in over the last 2-3 years with this relocation has left me stronger in faith than ever before. I have always been a take care of it yourself kind of girl. Releasing all control and leaving it to God has shaped and built such strong faith. The faith though that is growing in me crosses over into other parts of my life, like being single and happy. Also, into my parenting world where I have to be a god- fearing mother and fearless leader to my boys. I want the audience to know that every situation or issue is a chance to show god’s merciful favor. Don’t grow weary, grow in your change and marvel in the favor he has shown in your life. Always remember the times that you have already conquered.
How important to you are your dreams? How do you tie your pursuit of dreams into your daily life?
My dreams are very important, I work to get closer to them daily.
Being a single mom that works for herself is no easy feat. However, I’ve shown my sons that each day you document the process that you have made. Each day you take something off of your long term list, that will get you closer to the end result. Don’t overwhelm yourself with the process that it’s going to take to reach your goal. Break it down into little steps and celebrate each completion. My dream is to be able to help people in ways that they currently look for and can’t find. My dream is for Chau 4 Kids to be a true helpmate for parents who have transportation issues with their children. I want to help tons of people start a successful business. My dream is to enable the dreamers and help make their dreams real. My dream is to aid boys and girls in learning life and filling the gaps for things that may be missing, like love, support, someone to talk to, guidance and outlet from their situation. I tie my pursuits by making strides to get closer to the end goal on each of these projects daily.
When you have so much on your plate. Your focus is not the whole plate, it is only a piece of the plate. I’ve learned how to delegate, everyone has a talent that they can use to support. Support other businesses by delegating and letting someone help you. There are very few buildings that were built by one human by himself. I tie my pursuits by number one helping someone every day. Sacrifice is an investment. Number two I complete one thing for each company that moves me closer to the goal, each day, it could be a simple as phone call or email. I’ve come to the conclusion that when God leads you, you go. As I follow this more and more each day he leads me places to accomplish these dreams quicker than I expected. He leads me to people that will support and help build my dreams. My teen center was a 2019 goal that may be moving to 2018. I see God building the team and the format now. So I’ve had to break and draw up an outline as the team comes together. Through advertising for one business my blog received more visitors, so now I’m pulled me to perfect that product. I want to touch as many people as I possibly can through my businesses. Every time I’m given a platform to touch someone I follow his direction for he said he would never leave me or forsake me and he hasn’t.
Can you share one revelation you’ve learned as it relates to not losing your passion? (Perhaps, particularly in the face of disappointment.)
Since I have been here in Charlotte I have moved twice in 2 ½ years. This is the same amount of times I have pretty much moved in my whole life up north. This is a lot, a yearly move, was a bit much for me to swallow. When something told me to go after the year was up, I didn’t start to move, no did I want to. Well, the situation became way more uncomfortable and we had to go. Tough times aren’t always financial, sometimes it’s circumstance and that where I was with my boys Christmas 2015. Experiences in Charlotte have grounded me more than ever before. Many believe I was already grounded, but I wasn’t grounded enough for the plan he has in mind. We were down to having no roof over our head and we pulled it through. We made it a memorable experience instead of a depressing time. That year we started new traditions! Money wasn’t an issue it was just the timing of the move. The boys made the most of it. I always marvel at how my son is my rock, he provides a calm demeanor that brings me peace. Through the storm celebrate the blessing that is on its way. For when you get out you will remember the light that shined through the storm.

What’s a little bit of your background? How’d you get to be here doing what you’re now doing in 2017?
I’m the daughter of entrepreneurs. My parents have their own accounting company. Their companies are now separate however I grew up working in the office after school helping for fun. After obtaining my associate’s degree in Liberal Studies, I decided to stop fighting the accountant in me. I obtained my accounting degree in 2013. I was building my tax business since 2000 and didn’t pay it any attention because it wasn’t my focus. Working in accounting was what I loved to do and started a whole new world for me. Fed up in the corporate world, I planned a strategic exit and left my FT corporate job to work for myself. I do have to supplement my main income from time to time with little jobs here and there, however, who’s to say there has to be one main income instead of multiple incomes. I now have 2 businesses and am blessed to do what I have always wanted to do, be an entrepreneur and motivate others. I want to help develop other entrepreneurs and that is my direction.
What is a common fear you believe women have? How can they overcome this?
I believe many women fear the lack of just being a woman in business and in life. I believe many women think of ourselves as the underdog. We believe we are inferior to men. We create men, we birth all beings. How can you ‘woman’ be inferior? We mother the earth and the community around us. We teach and nurture those that we encompass. Women, I want you to know that there is a support system to tap into. Eve Within is an excellent one! Tap into your support system, tell someone your struggle, a discussion is not always complaining. Sometimes it can turn into valuable advice that will change your direction and your perception of the situation. I believe all women need to have women around them that lift them up and empower them. Women, we must take time for ourselves, you have not committed a sin. You have taken the time to recharge. We all must recharge. I know women are awesome creatures and have been known to conquer and expedite better in many circumstances. You are a Proverbs 31 woman and you don’t even know it. Your perseverance has created strength, wisdom, love and joy.
Please share a scripture that has motivated you. What did God reveal to you about himself? What did He reveal to you about yourself?
2nd Timothy 1:7- God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind. This is my refocus verse, this is my cut it out and just do it verse. This is my “why are you worried about that” verse. I have made it a part of my regular day to uplift myself by prayer and meditation, positive affirmations and my words most of all. The power of the tongue is so strong, we have to really watch what we say as we are cast those words into our lives. I use to be a big naysayer and not really meaning it but jokingly, however, you still shouldn’t doubt yourself even in jest. I learned that it wasn’t in jest because I wanted to say something bad before anyone else could. I didn’t want to give anyone the opportunity to confirm thoughts in the back of my mind so I would make a joke of it first. This spirit is not of God, this insecurity is not of God. God did not give us the spirit of doubt or fear or anything else.
Instead, he gave us power, love, and a sound mind. One thing I have always had in life is a special power to forgive that I used to think was a weakness. Now I know it is strength and I also know that in forgiving people that you feel may not necessarily deserve it does something to them and you. For you, it releases a burden and for them, they think, “jeesh he or she forgave me after what I did. There must be a God after all because I would never forgive them.” And the spirit of love is passed on. This spirit is my favorite, it awakens, it soothes, it cures, it is soft, it is harsh, it is clear. The more love you spread into the world, the more that love comes back to you. That love has come back to pay my bills when I needed it the most.
What is your takeaway message to the woman reading this blog who feels like:
Their dream is for someone much older (with “real” life experience)
They lack resources
They lack supportive community
They feel discouraged
I want all women out there to know that you have everything you need at your fingertips. I know we all can take a moment and list ten things we’re grateful for. Besides that though, I want you to look at your goal. Then look at the people who are in your network. Look at the people who you may not know but our family member or friend may know that can help you with this endeavor. You may be talking to this person every day. The first thing I ask God for every single person I meet is “why am I meeting this person? show me.” Sometimes I get an immediate response, sometimes I don’t and those are usually the times that blow my mind. Also, ladies, don’t ever let anyone allow you to feel like you are less than. You are more than conqueror and you have conquered so many things and challenges throughout life. Get in a group of uplifting women. Get into a group that sharpens you and pushes you to the next level. Keep this in mind. The group you may need around may already be around you. Ask yourself how can you uplift them. As you uplift them, they will uplift you. You may eventually grow out of this group and move on to another, however be thankful for the lesson in the season and marvel in the changes.
